Beautiful Brutes

While preservationists still have a long way to go toward cultivating widespread (or even moderate) appreciation for Brutalist architecture, the movement received a small leg-up with a recent op-ed in The New York Times. Writer Oliver Strand collaborated with artist Knickerbocker to create a presentation of simple yet beautiful black-and-white illustrations featuring six of New York City’s most prominent Brutalist masterpieces accompanied by captions.
