Books, Books and more books
August 25, 2011
The latest installment of our Modern Library book list is ready, thanks to our wonderful volunteer compiler Nancy Later.
Close to 13,000 new pages dealing with the history of the Modern movement made their way into print and onto bookshelves during the first half of 2011. Monographical treatments abound, both on lesser-known figures and on the stalwarts of architectural book publishing—Wright, Corbusier, and the like. Regional surveys continue to expand our knowledge of the range and scope of the movement, as do a number of typological studies. These building-based studies are complimented by historiographical and theoretical treatments, resulting in an intellectually rich and visually vibrant collection of literature. —NL
