TWA Flight Center Hotel receives first of several approvals needed

February 15, 2016

The rebirth of TWA Flight Center continues to move through the approvals process. MCR Development Company is incorporating Eero Saarinen’s terminal as part of a larger redevelopment plan that includes adding two buildings behind the terminal for hotel rooms. The original terminal will incorporate event and meeting space, restaurants, an observation deck, and museum space appropriately dedicated to the Jet Age and mid-century design. In January the plan passed the first of many steps in the process—unanimous approval by Queens Community Boards 10, 12, and 13. From there, it will go to Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, then on to the City Planning Commission and City Council.
