An Evening with Vladimir Kagan
April 22, 2010
Architect and designer Vladimir Kagan has been on the vanguard of American design since the 1940s. Expressive, exuberant forms are at the core of his vibrant career and he has continuously reinvented himself through new materials and fabrication methods. Many of his designs have become emblematic of twentieth century American style. Kagan, in an illustrated conversation with John Stuart Gordon, Benjamin Attmore Hewitt Assistant Curator of American Decorative Arts, will discuss his storied career, his inspirations, and his recent induction into Interior Design magazine’s Hall of Fame.
The Gallery’s current exhibition “Eero Saarinen: Shaping the Future” will be on view both before and after the event.
