Midtown Manhattan: Modernism Evolving—the Park Avenue Corridor (with a few diversions)

Park Avenue is the epicenter of Corporate Modernism. On Part II of Midtown Manhattan: Modernism Evolving with architect and architectural historian Kyle Johnson, view three Modern masterpieces by Gordon Bunshaft and Natalie de Blois of SOM, Mies van der Rohe’s Seagram Building, as well as more “vernacular” Modern office buildings by Emery Roth and others. Also included are a distinguished Art Deco tower and lobby, a Morris Lapidus-designed hotel, and late Modern and Postmodern designs by Edward Larrabee Barnes, Philip Johnson, and I. M. Pei.
