The Glass House adds a new tour option
April 24, 2014
For its 2014 season, starting May 1, the Glass House in New Canaan, CT, will offer a self-guided tour. For $75 each, visitors will be able to explore at their own pace more of the Philip Johnson-designed compound than is seen on less expensive group tours. Accessible on these extended circuits will be the Lincoln Kirstein Tower and the Pond Pavilion. Guides will be available to answer questions.
This season’s on-site art will include Veil by Fujiko Nakaya, an installation juxtaposing an “opaque atmosphere” to the transparency of the Glass House. The annual sculptor-in-residence program will offer three table-top works by Vincent Fecteau, to be exhibited one at a time over the coming months. And if that’s not enough, on Sunday May 18 Maya Lin and Edwina von Gal will be the first guests of the 2014 “Glass House Presents” series.
