USModernist Radio feature: Late Great Architecture Magazines with John Morris Dixon

In a mid-century world way before Instagram, people kept up with the latest buildings primarily through architecture magazines. Although a few titles like Architectural Record are still going, there were many exceptional publications that in their heyday from 1945 to the early 1990s reached millions of readers across the US and the world. The April 22 USModernist® Radio podcast features John Morris Dixon, FAIA, the last editor of one of those great magazines, Progressive Architecture, and long-time DOCOMOMO US/New York Tri-State board member. Dixon has interviewed and written about just about every Modernist architect who made it to the top or at least got close. He shares a wealth of insight into the peak years of architectural magazines from the viewpoint of journalist and architecture critic.
