DOCOMOMO NY/TRITOUR

Stamford Modernism and Urban Renewal Tour

Stamford, CT, launched its Urban Renewal Commission in 1954. The result was a 40-year odyssey that dramatically reshaped its center. This DOCOMOMO NY Tri-State tour unpacks it. There’s a bevy of buildings designed by Victor Bisharat in the 1970s which were followed by many more from an impressive list of modern movement corporate architects of the era. Special to this tour, visit inside Bisharat’s St. John’s Towers before their approaching demolition.
